Celkon Is All Set To Establish R&D And Design Centre In India
Hyderabad based smartphone manufacturer Celkon which was recently in the headlines for launching its latest flagship Millenia 2GB Xpress, is back in the news. According to the latest reports, the Indian tech company is all set to join hands with a Chinese firm Vikin to establish its R&D and design centre in either Hyderabad or Bengaluru.
With an investment of around one billion, the centre is all set to employ 500 people including engineers, designers and testers.
Being a heavily import-dependent firm relying on China, Celkon Mobiles has its research and development design centre in Shenzhen, China which currently employees 130 people.
Meanwhile, Celkon which has its mobile assembly unit in Hyderabad, would now produce 10,000 phones a day.
While this announcement was made by Y. Guru, Chairman and Managing Director, Celkon Mobiles, he also revealed that Celkon had sold feature phones priced at ₹ 800 onwards and smart phones ranging from ₹3000 to ₹ 10,000.
