This is Gamesa’s maiden project for Atria and includes 25 units of Gamesa’s innovation for low wind markets, the G97 2.0 MW turbine with an increased hub height of 104m
Gamesa India, country’s leading renewable energy company, has strengthened its formidable presence in the country with a new order for 50 MW turnkey wind power project with Perpetual Investment – a group entity of Atria Power, which will be developed at Kayathar in Tamilnadu.
Being a turnkey contract, Gamesa will handle the entire infrastructure needed to operate the project with the supply, erection & commissioning of 25 units of G97 2.0 MW wind turbines with a hub height of 104m, specially designed for low wind sites in India. This project will be commissioned by March 2016.
Speaking about the new win for the company, Mr. Ramesh Kymal, Chairman and Managing Director, Gamesa India said, “We are happy to announce this new deal with Atria, one of the most reputed players in the renewable energy space in the country. One of our greatest innovations – the G97-2.0 MW custom-designed for the low winds has been signed on by majority of our key clientele testifying their trust in our technology prowess and ability to adapt. This project will be another stride from Gamesa to reach the country’s target of 20 per cent energy generation from renewable sources by 2022.”
This order with Atria is a part of Gamesa India’s consolidated order book for the third quarter which was announced recently.
Gamesa attained leadership position in the wind turbine space in the country and has solutions and service across the wind energy value chain. With the support of a Strong wind research team, Gamesa is able to identify and develop key wind potential sites across the country
