Asus Zenfone Pegasus 3S smartphone with 3GB RAM launched

56438245Taiwanese smartphone maker Asus has reportedly launched its Zenfone Pegasus 3S smartphone. According to a Chinese news website Anzhuo.com, the smartphone has been launched in China and appears to be aimed at the budget segment based on its specifications. The Zenfone Pegasus 3S sports a 5.2-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) resolution display, the same as used on the Zenfone Pegasus 3 smartphone. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, clubbed with a 3GB RAM. On the storage front, the Zenfone Pegasus 3S comes in 32GB and 64GB RAM variants. A microSD card slot has been included as well. The smartphone has the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS, which includes new features, such as direct reply from notifications, multi-window view, and an improved Doze mode amongst others. The Zenfone Pegasus 3S is backed by a 5,000mAh non-removable battery, which is more than the company’s latest battery-focussed smartphone, Zenfone 3 Max. There is also a fingerprint sensor embedded on the home button in the front.
This is Asus’ third smartphone launch within 10 days this year. It had already launched the Zenfone 3 Zoom smartphone and Zenfone AR at the recently concluded CES 2017 tradeshow in Las Vegas. Zenfone AR, which is Asus’ first Google Tango AR-enabled smartphone, is also the world’s first smartphone to come with an 8GB RAM. The device has three Sony IMX 23 MP cameras. Built with Google’s Tango AR technology, it has a 5.7-inch AMOLED WQHD screen with 2,560×1,440 resolution (79% body to screen ratio). The smartphone comes with an exclusive ZenUI VR 360 for creating VR content. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 processor powers the smartphone which has the Android 7.0 Nougat OS. The device will be available in the second quarter of 2017.
