Apple sends media invites for WWDC 2017

As announced in February, WWDC 2017 will be held from June 5th to June 9th in San Jose, California. This is departure from the company’s several previous events which were held in San Francisco at the Mos cone Center. This year’s event will take place at San Jose’s McEnery Convention Center.
Tickets for the event, priced at $1,599, were distributed through lottery held in late March. Every year, Apple holds a lottery for developers who wish to attend WWDC as the number of those wishing to attend far exceeds the capacity. Some 5,000 developers are expected to attend WWDC 2017, along with over 1,000 Apple engineers and executives.
Developers who are not able to get the tickets to the event can watch the keynote and sessions live through Apple’s WWDC app, available for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. The event is also web casted on the company’s developer website.
Apple is expected to showcase the latest version of its iOS operating system, likely to be called iOS 11, at the event. Speculations also suggest that the company may preview latest OS versions of mac OS, tvOS and watch OS.
On hardware front, the company is expected to unveil a new iPad and Siri Speaker, dubbed to be Apple’s competitor to Amazon’s home automation device Amazon Echo and Google Home.
