Apple New Macbook Impressions
With the new MacBook, Apple has engineered the lightest and most compact Mac and claims it has created ‘the future of notebooks’. Weighing less than a kilogram, Air boasts of a thickness of 13.1mm, making it 23 per cent thinner than the present gen MacBook Air. Though the screen size has been cramped down to a decent 30.48 cm (12- inches), the keyboard and track pad sizes have been increased; all thanks to the new design. Available in Gold, Silver and Space Grey, the New Mac looks brilliant.
Minor tweaks have been made to improve the battery life and performance. Apple also claims to have improved the retina display, making it razor sharp and also more energy efficient. There has been a huge commotion about the new USB–C port on the Air as there is only one port that serves the purpose of a USB 3.0, a charging port and video output that supports VGA, HDMI and Display Port connections.
One will have to carry a flimsy adapter for connecting pen drives or using an HDMI cable but with a thickness less than that of the normal USB port and serving multiple proposes. Least to say, the future of computer connectivity lies in the USB-C port. Overall, the new MacBook seems to serve its purpose perfectly well. Priced at Rs 99000, the new MacBook from Apple is a priced possession for all the gizmo-enthusisasts out there.
