Intertek has recently introduced Excellence laboratory for LED and Batteries in Delhi.

In line with the ‘Make in India’ campaign announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, London based inspection and certification firm Intertek has recently introduced its first Electrical Centre of Excellence laboratory for LED and Batteries in Delhi.

With an aim to create consciousness in the industry, Intertek targets regulatory bodies, manufacturers and stakeholders. It is anticipated that the laboratory would boost the usage of LED lighting and make way for energy conservation.

Andre Lacroix, CEO, Intertek has inaugurated the Electrical Centre of Excellence laboratory in the presence of senior officials from Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) and Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DeitY).

Earlier this year, BIS and DeitY had issued Compulsory Registration Order for 30 electronics items so that these products are tested to meet specified safety standards.
